This year I have became more immersed in the Indie Craft world and I have been blessed to meet some truly incredible and truly talented people. Anybody can sew or create something, but it takes someone of true talent to take the ordinary, say kitchen apron, and elevate it to a work of art and yet that is exactly what Modern Wednesday does.
It is funny how small the world is, when my family reconnected with an old family friend and I found out just how talented his partner is. Missy, the creative mind and hard working hands behind Modern Wednesday is one of the most talented seamstresses I have met. She has a flair for vintage style meets modern glam that is borderline badass, but then can turn around and create a plushy so adorable that any child (or child at heart) will swoon.
Modern Wednesdays’ goodies are made with an overwhelming variety of gorgeous fabrics, some vintage and quirky (like the Popples apron featured above that I am VERY proud to own) and some that are glamourous enough that they could be sported to a black tie affair.
To see more of Modern Wednesdays creations or to purchase something for yourself, check her out on facebook, Etsy or Indiemade:
Also, having placed several myself, I know that custom orders are welcome!
My friend and fellow artisan (photographer, baker and sewist) Chelsea wrote this sweet blog post about my creative sewing business Modern Wednesday. It would be just ducky if you showed her some love, and checked out my links if you haven’t already.
