Make Soda Can Lanterns:Dollar Store Crafts
This are so sweet. You could string up a bunch on a string of lights, or just make a couple or tea lights. I dig them though.
Upcycled book page pockets. I tell you this woman is a genius. (You may remember her canvas wall pockets?) So much awesome at Just Something I Made.
Giveaway Number Two!
The giveaway for the Wallums did so well, it is time for another!

The very fine ladies at Greyslater have offered up one of these ubercool cardboard ceramic trays. I am so jealous! Seriously.
You might remember the tray from a post I did a couple weeks back. I told you about the tray being made by Chicago-area artist Tim Kowalczyk. But I didn’t tell you about Grayslater. Greyslater is a Chicago-based eco-boutique dedicated to supporting local artisans, small businesses, and manufacturers of made in the USA products. Founded in 2011 by friends Katya Siddall and Natalie Slater, Greyslater features hand-picked, sustainably-made reusables that are as beautiful as they are functional.
You can follow them socially as well! (And I have to say their blog is quippy and clever.)
Intrigued and want one of these trays for yourself?!Well you’re in luck because this giveaway is just as simple if not more so then the last.

Anonymous asked: This question is not about storage, it's about reviews. Do you do reviews and how would I make contact with you to send information?
I am open to reviews any and all inquiries should be forwarded to thestoragegeek@gmail.com.
each-peroxide-shot asked: youre not gonna post on essentialdiy anymore?? :"( why?
I am sorry sweetie. The Essential DIY is on hold right now. Between this blog and my craft blog I just didn’t have the time to devote to it. But there are some fabulous DIY blogs here on tumblr that update multiple times daily.
I hope you enjoy these blogs as much as I do. (If you don’t already.)
I love the name and the concept of The Essential DIY though so I am holding on to it for a little while longer.
Cheers, Melissa
