My New Studio Space!

You may have noticed that things have been quiet around here, and some have you may have noticed that before it got quiet I was posting mostly about sewing and craft room organization. There was a good reason for both of those things. We were moving into a new house, and in this house is a bigger studio than I have ever had. Ever. For serious ever. I wanted it to be brilliantly organized and equally brilliantly decorated. I think I accomplished both of those things. :)

Here are a couple photos from a blog post I did at Modern Wednesday about the new space. There is a lack of close up shots, but that is because I need a day with great light. But the post still has seven photos that I think are darling!

I am so excited to begin creating a fall line for Modern Wednesday goodness in this space. But first, I have to finish organizing every room but my kitchen and bathroom. Good thing I’m also known as The Storage Geek. ;)

Use binder clips to hang your paint tubes. Love it!

DIY Kitchen Organizer - C.R.A.F.T.
Paint a bi-fold door and add some hooks and you have  very chic kitchen organizer. I like this idea, particularly the colour blocking and diagonal magnetic knife block. Also, while shutters can be hard to find, louvred bi-fold doors are a dime a dozen. See more photos at Create Really Awesome Free Things (C.R.A.F.T.).

DIY Yarn Bowl | Pocket Pause
Simple yarn bowl made from a glass dish and binder clip. How very clever.

DIY Message Center : Plumdoodles
I have seen a lot of drawer repurposing projects in my time as The Storage Geek, but this one is actually quite unique. Click the photo to be taken to the full tutorial at Plumdoodles.

Pretty Fabric Storage : muymolon
This is a cute way to store fabric. Easy an inxpensive too! Of course it wouldn’t work for serious yardage, but we all have half yards and fat quarter multiplying daily don’t we? OK, that’s just me? I’m OK with that. ;)

DIY Cork Pencil Holder and Organizer : Curbly | DIY Design Community
Stacked cork trivets (Available at IKEA and Amazon) make a great pen/pencil holder that works as a memo station too. This works for me as I never seem to have enough Post-It notes, but I always have pretty little push ins about.

Coffee Bean Makeup Brush Holder : The Creative Imperative
Any storage/organization option that makes use of the deliciously smelling coffee bean is a-OK in my books. Instead of using vase filler, this idea uses coffee beans to store make up brushes upright. <3

DIY Rolling Bar Cart  DIY Ideas
I found the photo @ unplugged because they had a great idea of doing the same with a rolling mini office. I love the original idea as well but it works on many levels. A rolling craft centre for you and/or your children. A cooking centre complete books and and rarely used tools and appliances. Portable shelving is the bees knees no matter how you utilize it.

I have been racking my brain trying to figure out a great idea for a bar(cart). Looking through my archives I found this one. Second hand change tables don’t come along that often, but I have now moved them up to the top of my “I need this for this” list.
