One step DIYs are my favourite and it doesn’t get any easier than this. At first I thought I would prefer a smoother front to the drawer but than I realized that would mean a more flat surface to deposit things (junk) and I am currently fighting that very issue every day. So I like the multi level surface with the long handle as a top.
DIY Framed display shelf - Country Living
This shelving how to is a bonus because Country Living actually recommends using an old box or wine crate as the inside shelf piece. Also, the frame is a cast off as well. Lots of bang for your buck. And cute!
DIY Pipe & fitting wall unit : The Brick House
This DIY has industrial chic written all over it. The makers of this unit said it cost them roughly $200 but I think that is a steal considering it is a beautiful bit minimalism meets wall unit. Here is another how to @ Apartment Therapy. They have a great tip about keeping the design withing the measurements of the piping so that no custom cuts are necessary. (Although I believe a pipe cutter is a necessary tool in any DIYer’s tool box.)
