Funky Chunky Necklace Storage

xameliax asked: Question!!

I’m really stuck on how to store all my junk jewellery when we move in to our lovely new house! We’re using the third bedroom as a small wardrobe room where (until we can find wardrobes we like) we will be using clothes racks and boxes, but i don’t know how i can store my chunky necklaces and bangles without them all getting tangled up? ….and i have a lot of them!

Thanks for the super question Amelia! Idid some searching through my tags and some creative googling and I found some fabulous options. You have a billion options but they all depend on a few things. Like where you are keeping it and how visible it will be or how efficient and/or funky you want it to be. For example;

If you would like super simple and efficient (Not to mention cheap!) you could use a tie rack and/or hanging pockets like Holly of Holly Would If She Could. (I have one of those pocket organizers and while I like it and it came in uber handy, it is not the be-all-end-all solution for me. Perfect for someone with a minimal amount of jewelry and space though.

If you would like something that hangs your bangles as well and is kinda cute to look at I really like this hat rack turned bangle.necklace rack from solaana.

This is very clever (And equally frugal.) reuse of a wall mounted spool rack from Something Shiny.

But this system from Annimal House takes the cake. It consists of reshaped paperclips and already installed moulding.

Super simple, super customizable! Super cheap!

A little more effort, some wood and gorgeous pull knobs and you have this(these) number from Morgane Rouault. While the knobs wouldn’t hold bangles very well, you could always switch up a knob or two with some nice vintage hooks.

This was one of my first posts as Storage Geek and it is still one of my favourites. The [re]use of an old wooden tray, wooden spools and cardboard boxes melds perfectly with the soft palette of colours and yet it still holds a butt-load of jewelry. Full tutorial @ A Time For Everything.

And finally, if you have the wall space, which I know you do (You lucky lucky lady!) and the jewelry (That this woman does.) you could invest in a butt-load of vintage and modern hooks and just hang them everywhere like art. Isn’t this just wonderful? *Swoon* I only hope that someday I have this much jewelry to show off!

There you go Amelia, I hope that helped. I also have a jewelry storage tag that might give you a couple ideas that are not of the wall hanging variety.

I love these kind of questions please feel free to ask them often! Cheers, M.
