Very pretty and very organized craft suitcase from Amy Powers. I think is a viable option for budding crafters or artists in small spaces. The magnetic bead containers in the lid I think are key.

Karen, of the Art Of Doing Stuff shares with us a very easy trick for getting the musty smell out of those vintage treasures we pine over. I have a very large vintage suitcase that still smells musty two years after I found it. I have my sewing patterns in it so it isn’t too big of a deal but I think I will try this trick to open up the storage possibilities.
Repurposed Suitcases: From Filing Cabinets to Tables | Poetic Home
I found this photo awhile back and I thought “Neat”. But now that I look at it, and I think of the cardboard accordion folder I have a love hate relationship with (Love the 31 pockets hate the cardboard accordion nature of the thing) I think this is exactly what I need to make it more accessible and much nice to look at.
“Walls” Made from Salvaged Drawers & C-Clamps | Apartment Therapy
While this seems a bit too much at first, in smaller doses for those of you (And some day me) with craft and maker fairs to sell from I think this is a great way to make yourself a right cool division.

Dear vintage suitcase,
Is there nothing you cannot do?

After the obvious aesthetic beauty of this piece, for me the true beauty is in the stacked, but not stacked on top of one another suitcases. You can pull out individual (gorgeous vintage) suitcases and not have to stack them back up. I.love.that.

I have three vintage suitcases very similar to these. None are leather, not even pleather but a paper knock off that is going from ok condition to crappy condition soon. Could I justify painting them like this? I really love how paint unifies them. (I would never dream of painting leather suitcases in good shape.)
ETA - One is dark blue (really nothing special), one is a nice taupe with burgundy accents and the last is a burgundy faux snakeskin.
No nifty travel labels or stickers.
A Desk of Briefcases - Maarten De Ceulaer
What artist Marten de Ceulaer can do with some suitcases and trunks is quite wonderful. Visit his website for more incredible suitcase sculptures.
The DIY possibilities are truly endless. I would imagine with some paint, proper fasteners and construction grade adhesives anyone could build their own suitcase sculpture. Now, I’m off to find a half dozen more vintage suitcases to my collection!
