Ikea’s Cheapest Bookshelves via Sharebables
I know this looks like a bunch of 1x4s on brackets but it is actually recycled Ikea bed slats (Which apparently sell or 10 dollars a pack) and Ikea wall brackets (2/$1 definitely not a CDN price). Love a good reuse in the morning.

DIY Guitar Curio Shelving via Shelterness
There are always guitars at thrift shops that have seen better days. No name models that do not break the aficionado’s heart. This would be a fun project for a kids room or family room I think.
I found this photo ages ago but forgot to save a source. I found it again at Shelterness but still no source so if you know the source please let me know!

Bookshelf Industrial Pipe Level 3 by stellableudesigns on Etsy
I adore these cast iron piping shelves. I only wish I had the wall space to order some for myself!

Tin Can Storage via The CANADIAN DESIGN RESOURCE
I have shown many an aluminum can storage. And I love each and every one but this one designed by Canadian designer Cristina Covello takes the cake. The drawer system just make my inner Storage Geek squeal!

Reader Submission : Sweatshirt Hoodie Wall

Every now and again I get reader submissions. Sometimes they are the results of a request for advice and sometimes they are Storage Geek inspired and sometimes they are solutions that my readers love so much they need to share. That is the case with McNuggett’s. She and her boyfriend love their hoodies so much that they couldn’t contain them in a single closet. (Hoodies are bulky yo, you know with all those hoods and stuff.) Anyhoo, they decided against cramming them in wardrobes and decided to show them off.

Hi there! I’m mcnuggett.tumblr.com :]  Me and my boyfriend are in a college apartment and have no room for anything! We have such a large sweatshirt collection and no where to put them because they’re so bulky.  We came up with these alternatives, and went a bit hanging crazy.  The wall hangs our collective sweatshirts and my scarfs, and the doors to the closet hangs my bras [also bulky and hard to put in drawers].  It was fairly simple we just used command hooks [we can’t damage our walls with holes or anything] but can easily be done with nails or less expensive adhesive hooks. Enjoy!

For those of you wondering what to do with your bras, you could always hang them on command hooks.

We collect things because we love them. I envy this cozy collection. I actually wore my parka out today because the wind is so nippy here in South Eastern Ontario. Your hoodie collection would be coveted by many. Thanks for the submission! Cheers,Melissa.

Tell me this Marcel Sigel and Alana di Giacomo Wall Brooch isn’t the prettiest hook you have ever seen.

I have always liked vintage spice racks but never really knew what to do with them as my spice collection has always been much too large for one. I adore the way these are painted and grouped.  This would work in just about any room in the house. Now I can buy the next few shelves I see at the thrift shop as I already know where they’ll go!

A ‘winewall’ in Alkmaar, The Netherlands, by Evelyne Bok
The shelving is designed to be near invisible, letting the bottles be the full focus. This is somewhat of a breath of fresh air, in comparison to a suffocating wooden wine rack would do to a room with a collection this size.
Author’s note: I love wood and all of its amazing properties and uses but it can really suck the life out of a room when there is too much.
